Below are some images of a recent project carried out by IRS (Medical) Ltd at a Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust site on behalf of Elekta Ltd. Again, this project was completed on target and within pre-set budgets. This linear accelerator treatment, control and plant area refurbishment had a contract value of £375,500.00 ex VAT. Major works were undertaken to the main power supplies, air handling plant as well as structural alterations to increase the shielding capacity of the room. The medical gas and surface mounted electrical containments etc were all removed and relocated behind a new dry-lined wall finish for a sleek modern appearance.All pre-programmed works were completed within the scheduled 12 week build programme and handed back to the Trust on the target date.
